What is Clergy Confidant? Clergy Confidant is a ministry dedicated to helping ministers and their families with the issues that are specific to the challenges they face. I have received a specific call of God to reach out to my fellow clergy and provide free counseling, ministry, prayer, and other special needs that are sometimes neglected for those who are laboring for the Kingdom of God. Counseling Ministers have issues too! It is a shame that many ministers are forced to project perfection to everyone around them - their congregations, their peers, and their denominational leadership. At least that is the way that they feel. But the truth is that clergy have problems dealing with family situations, personal issues, and even SIN (you know it is true,) and feel that they will be defrocked, fired, or ruined if they go to anyone about these issues that they do face. This causes their families to suffer and many times their health, as well. As a minister, you need to have some place where you can vent, cry, confess, or just talk to someone who has walked in your shoes without worry of consequence. That place is here! Give me a call and you can be assured that your conversation will be kept private. You can call anonymously - you will not be required to provide your name or contact information. Prayer When you call, you can be assured of one thing: I am going to pray for you! The answer you seek may not be found in the knowledge and experiences that God has brought to me, but there is a definite source that you have access to. You may not feel that you can pray or that your prayers are heard, but when you call, you will be joined with someone who can pray - and together we will be a Spiritual force that draws the attention of God! " . . . if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven." Ministry What is it that you have need of? I want to be a resource from which you can draw to help you, as a minister, succeed in ministry, be fulfilled in life, and provide for your family. You may need a weekend off but do not have the resources to pay someone to fill your pulpit. You may want to take your wife on a date (and probably need to!) but cannot find a babysitter or cannot afford one. You may need a book to develop your skills. Or maybe you just need a friend that you can trust. That is my desire, to be: Donald Laymon - the Clergy Confidant! The Bottom Line The Bottom Line is that I want to be a friend to those who are serving God in the most challenging ways. Regardless of whether you are in a small town where every whisper is heard or in the big city that has lost you in the crowd, I want to help you in whatever way I can. If you need help and you need confidentiality and do not know where to go - please be comforted that in you time of trouble - You have at least one friend who will stand with you! Sincerely, Rev.
